Nicholas grew up in Hanover County, VA and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic school, and then Atlee H.S. He is an Eagle Scout. He was a member of the National Honor Society and ran cross-county, indoor and outdoor track under coach Jim Triemplar. He then went to the College of Charleston, where he was the captain of the men’s cross-country team. He graduated with a B.S. in International Business Administration and a B.A. in Spanish. After graduation, he went straight to Maersk, where he completed a two-year assignment with rotations based on the Mayview Maersk and also in Panama, Denmark, and New Jersey. Returning home, he joined ING Financial Advisors in Henrico, VA in 2004, following his dad’s footsteps and joining him in business.
Nicholas is blessed to be father of 5 children (three girls and two boys) and husband to his wife Ymelda. Ymelda is from Lima, Peru but they met in Richmond, Virginia. He has worked in financial planning since 2004, attaining his CFP designation in 2011. He is the Co-Owner of Orenduff & Associates, a PlanMember Financial Center. He has helped and hundreds of public servants successfully make the transition to retirement. He also provides 40+ hours of pro-bono financial planning work per year to those without the resources to pay.
He is a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Glen Allen. He actively volunteers (Tuesdays and Saturdays) as a voice and podcast producer for Glimpses of the Gospel (A podcast by Fr. Rodrigo Aguilar). What additional free time he has is dedicated to spending quality time with his family, in prayer and, in learning. He feels that it is more important now than ever in history to be intentional about how we invest and spend the resources that God entrusts to us as His instruments.
Please reach out for a conversation even if you do not live in the Richmond, VA area. We can always do a video meeting!
